Network Security Technician – XCEL FCU

Overview

XCEL Federal Credit Union is hiring a skilled Network Security Technician to maintain, enhance and secure XCEL’s computer network, analyze network performance, improve network capacity, troubleshoot system-related server & software application issues and provide IT help desk support.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, diagnose, and repair problems with networking and telecommunications systems while providing analysis reports to management. Monitor and update network equipment to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness. Ensure that all network data, processes, and systems are secure. Provide technical support in the detection and resolution of all system issues which includes server hardware and software application configuration, administration and third-party application support.
  • Perform all data processing activities, network/system/ATM administration & monitoring duties, develop, test, and implement new hardware and software solutions, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Web/Email filtering, Office 365 Mailbox & Intune Administration, Phone System maintenance, Video Surveillance, Access Controls and complete system reporting on multiple systems.
  • Assist with the management and support of the credit union help desk ticketing system ensuring that all tickets are completed within specified deadlines.
  • Assist Information Technology Department with research/implementation of assigned projects, write/update departmental procedures & participate in annual disaster recovery testing.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory training programs, including but not limited to Information Security, Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control Program and Customer Identification Program.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two to three years of similar or related experience.
  • (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the following areas:
    • Windows 11, Server 2016/2019/2022, Vmware, Active Directory, Office 365, Intune Management & DUO MFA.
    • Strong working knowledge of OS/hardware platforms supported by network equipment; specific familiarity with Cisco.
    • Knowledge & Experience in Java, JavaScript, VB Script, MSSQL, DB2, Oracle and Python.
    • Proficient in working with industry standard reporting tools such as MS Reporting Services, Business Objects, Crystal or other.
    • Firewalls, Routers and Switches Administration

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting at $70,000

Expected hours: 40 per week
