Government Relations Associate – CrossState Credit Union Association

CrossState Credit Union Association (CrossState) is a regional trade Association serving credit unions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as a Government Relations Associate, to manage political advocacy efforts for CrossState. This includes the three entities of the CrossState family, the trade association, CrossState Solutions, and CrossState Credit Union Foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the SVP, Government Relations, the Government Relations Associate will develop a strategy to grow the Associations political action committees (PACs) and Credit Union Action Fund to reach annual fundraising goals and increase participation.
  • Raise credit union visibility and awareness amount Trenton, NJ, Harrisburg, PA and Washington DC stakeholders by engaging credit unions and respective Association staff.
  • Assist with the advancement of political, legislative, and policy objectives of the Association through independent lobbying and New Jersey/Pennsylvania contracted lobbyist.
  • Contribute to developing multifaceted grassroots campaigns to support state and federal legislative initiatives and educate credit unions.
  • Serve as the liaison to other New Jersey and Pennsylvania trade groups to position credit unions as a subject matter expert in the financial services marketplace.
  • Work closely with America’s Credit Unions, AACUL, Association/League Government Relations professionals to advance multiple policy initiatives and demonstrate the Association’s role as a collaborative system partner.

The ideal candidate for this position would have a bachelor’s degree with a preferred major in government, political science of public policy or a related field with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of government relations experience. The candidate must have demonstrated experience in leading political fundraising and grassroots strategies.

This position will be a hybrid model of both in person and remote with a 50/50 split on time in-office verses working remotely. Must be available to be the in-office on additional days as needed.
