Accounting Manager – NCFCU

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial decisions, processes, and policies. A successful candidate will enjoy working in an evolving environment with knowledge of the financial accounting industry.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Ability to engage with all levels within the organization and enjoy interacting with the public.
  • Provide quality member service & maintain member confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance & 3-5 Year’s Accounting Experience Preferred.
  • Managerial Experience is a plus.
  • Ability to professionally communicate with members, co-workers, and external contacts utilizing organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a positive work ethic and be dependable.
  • Capability to meet and work under strict deadlines.

The primary functions of the position consist of the following:

1. Financial Management and Reporting

  • Completes the preparation of monthly and annual reports as required by CUNA and the State.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.

2. Accounting Operations

    • Directs the functions of and monitors the daily operations of the accounting department including settlements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
    • The ability to interface at all levels of the organization and enjoys direct contact with the public.
    • Maintains internal controls and safeguards assets to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Review and reconcile mortgage and student loans monthly by the due dates.
    • Oversees and completes the reconciliation of the general ledger accounts; including cash accounts, loans, and investments.

    3. Regulatory Compliance

    • Responds and ensures regulatory compliance and policies of NCFCU and holds employees accountable.
    • Stays up to date on regulatory changes and best practices for accounting standards in the financial services industry.
    • Works directly with auditors and examiners as needed.

    4. Team Leadership

    • Supervise and mentor the accounting team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, establish goals, and recommendations for training.
    • Collaborate with team members on financial planning and strategy development.

    • Support projects and initiatives that drive growth and stability within the Credit Union.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $60,000.00 – $73,000.00 per year
