Riverfront FCU Launches Seventh Annual Awareness Makes Cents Campaign
Wyomissing, PA – On October 1, Riverfront FCU (Riverfront) launched its seventh annual awareness “Makes Cents” campaign to direct attention to breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection.
The main event is a free mammography screening in partnership with the Lackawanna Mobile X-ray unit at the credit union’s Spring Township branch, located at 2609 Keiser Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 5. Additionally, at Riverfront’s Spring Township branch, individuals can donate their spare change to the campaign through an ITM.
Riverfront is also partnering with Humane PA to host a mobile pet adoption event on Saturday, October 14, and will cover the adoption fees for any animals adopted during the event. A matching donation will be made to local non-profits supporting those affected by breast cancer for the total amount of adoption fees paid for by Riverfront.
On October 19, at Riverfront’s 2001 Museum Road location, fresh flower bouquets from Stein’s Flowers will be sold for $15. Sales proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (BCSS).
A series of other fundraising activities is also planned, including sales of custom designed tee shirts and pink piggy banks. Riverfront also offers a custom Awareness Makes Cents instant issue debit card for purchase year-round, with $10 of each sale being donated to local Berks County breast cancer service organizations. As usual, Riverfront will host a silent auction of ceramic piggy banks, hand-painted by staff, via Facebook. Bidding begins on October 25, 2023. Proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (BCSS).
As part of the Awareness Makes Cents campaign this year, Riverfront staff will make and donate a supply of port pillows to patients undergoing treatment at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.
