Chief Regulatory Officer, Nicola Foggie, and Christina Mihalik, SVP of Government Relations of CrossState Credit Union Association joined PA Newsmakers Host Terry Madonna to discuss the ever-growing number of number and variety of scams pushed towards Americans, along with ways to stay safe.
Consumers reported losing nearly $8.8 billion to fraud and even more to investment scams in 2022. The pandemic caused more people to spend more time online, which lead to scammers to find new ways to target consumers and for the scam landscape to change.
The pair discussed scams involving cryptocurrency, payday loans, one-time password bots, student loan forgiveness, and more.
