Corry Jamestown Credit Union Co-Hosts Fraud Bingo Event

Information provided by Erie News Now

Corry Jamestown Credit Union collaborated with LECOM Parkside at Corry to host a fraud bingo event at LECOM Parkside. Each spot on the bingo board has an example/situation of fraud. A number is called, followed by a mini lesson about the dangers of fraud and scammers for each board spot called.

Out of 16 bingo players in the room, we asked for anyone who experienced some kind of fraud in the past to raise their hand. Approximately half of the players raised their hands, including LECOM Parkside resident Mark Brutcher.

“We are looking to just help our community, our members, the residents here, just to be aware of different fraud, scams and tactics,” said Marlo Vandresar, Visa and Marketing Officer at Corry Jamestown Credit Union.  “You do have to be on your toes because it doesn’t matter if you’re young or if you’re old, middle aged,” Vandresar said. “It can happen to everybody.”
